need a vj-ist

Band needs some visual element. We're not much to look at and our music is quirky, sonic and
sometimes abstract, post-rock, indie, garage psychedelia. I figure it'd be worth a shot to see if anyone wants to help us add some flair to the live show.
Doesn't offer any pay. We usually don't even get paid with any more than drink tickets at this point but we're aiming to make that change.
Ideally we'd like someone who is looking to start something and develop their own thing along with us. We're very d.i.y., in our 30's and (gulp) 40's, low-budget and would hope the participation within and you're creative input would be rewarding in itself. .

It would be rad if we could get a VJ for the occasional gig. We mostly play around So. Ca. areas of Long Beach and the south bay (L.A.)
We do have some gigs in Echo Park and Downey. May have some coming up at the Cocaine in downtown and Mr. T's.

Projections of old 1950's Sci-Fi robots and monsters - UFOs, film loops, fractal, etc.
We have some old 8mm home video film that we want to make loops with
if this sounds even remotely interesting to you or someone you know please email
alis.pasha@gmail.com
Thank you

I'm selling my Edirol V4 that I've had for almost 1 year.
And my Toshiba tdp-tw90a projector with 3 ft extension ceiling mount
and Gator case. Bulb has 150 hours on it, so lots left.
I thought I would be doing more with it but I
want to get a DV cam instead for film projects
so they must go!
The mixer is in pristine condition with the box and original
papers,warranty etc..
The projector has all papers and warranty but no original box.
All for $1800...
will split up too..

Seeking space for multimedia event

Hi all

I work with a multimedia collective called Lucid. We throw events in the Bay Area that combine DJs, live music, visuals and fashion. We have worked in clubs in the past, but now we are looking for a more underground space in SF in which to throw an small event (100-200 people) that displays all these elements. We would love to find an independent gallery space that would be willing to host us for an evening, but any space that's big enough and has good acoustics for sound would be great. We have our own equipment for sound and visuals. Please PM me if you might know of an available space, or if you are just interested in knowing more about what we do.

Thanks!
Jess

Livid Union Software

Hey VJ kiddies. I've been playing and working with the creators of a relatively new piece of software for Mac OS X called Livid Union. Check it out at http://www.lividinstruments.com. To complement the software, they've also designed a very beautiful (yet pricey) MIDI controller specifically made for Union. Check it out. It even has a built-in LCD monitor. They're a pretty small company (3 of them as far I know) based out of NYC. They're really cool guys. Last week they did a VJing first, wherein they were actually broadcasting for television a live video mix at some big awards show down in Miami (the name of it escapes me). One thing to keep in mind, the software needs a pretty beefy CPU to run, at least in 800mhz range...
